We planted a virtual ShovelFlag in the Freedom Park Gloom and hit the RitchieRun.
The Faithful: OBT and the The Two Warriors: Dark and Red (both RitchieRun FNGs).
The Route: The MMOB Memorial "This Is My City" Route, through South End, West Morehead, Freedom Drive, Wesley Heights, Center City and Sugar Creek Greenway.
The Distance: 12.2 miles.
The Time: 1:44:52
Spreadsheets From The Gloom:
_ A mere eight days after making his first Qrusade appearance at AG, Red Warrior is just a Twofer Tuesday and MudX/StrengthPack appearance from hitting for the Qrusade/GONADS cycle. Also, he might look like a Clydesdale, but don't be fooled -- there's some real giddyup in those legs as I discovered when I picked up the pace for the stretch run along the greenway back to Freedom Park. The guy already qualifies for High-Functioning Hybrid status. 3xclaps.
_ Another 3xclaps to DarkWarrior, who promised to belly up to the RitchieRun bar after RedWarrior said he would post. DW only revealed after the run was over that it was a personal best. Not for time, people, but for mileage -- a lifetime long run. Nice work, DW.
_ Thanks to both the Warriors for posting, which required me to post as they were FNGs and don't know the route. Kept me from overdoing it on Saturday night and got me out of the fartsack on Sunday morning.
_ The vaunted Sunrise view of the Charlotte skyline from State Street -- the one that causes MMOB to spread his arms wide and declare, "This is my city!" -- was unfortunately obscured by low clouds and general Gloom this AM. Also absent was MMOB himself, who had last been seen around 2300 Saturday evening, exiting the Avett Brothers concert at Bojangles Coliseum, humming "Kickdrum Heart" and ducking questions about whether he would post for the Ritchie. Regardless, 3xclaps to MMOB for scoring excellent seats to the concert. Even if JohnnyMost seemed less than captivated by the proceedings, MMost, OBT, MOBT, MMOB and MMMOB all enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.
