Aye, we planted the ShovelFlag in the Christ Church parking lot and 11 brothers emerged from the Gloom:
Pomfret
Red Warrior
Kit Carson
Moniteur
The Colonel (BHWTU)
OBT (QIC)
Nino
Girardi
RoboCop
Holtz
Raul Justice
MMOB*/Finnegan
The Thang:
The MMOB City Loop; 6.4 miles. Nino and Pomfret were in around 47:00, the peloton between 49 and 50. OBT and The Colonel were the 6s today.
Spreadsheets From The Gloom:
_ A shirtless MMOB, with Finnegan on the leash, jumped in just past the mile mark at the Sake Dispenser and bailed out about a mile from the finish after running with the peloton for most of the way.
_ 3x claps to Moniteur for posting after I shamelessly turned his squishy-soft commit into a hard commit to the entire group -- even after I UAed from HDHH (but in the name of family togetherness).
_ OBT and The Colonel were both hurting. The Colonel is just getting back at it after a long layoff from a ski injury that messed up his collarbone and I was suffering from a balky knee, so we shared the 6 for most of the run. As The Colonel put it when he pulled into the parking lot in time for the CoT, today he was The Colonel (TU).
_ Strong performance by every one to get out there and push the pace on a very soupy morning, with temps already in the high 70s when we set out. Runs like this remind you why they call these the dog days, and we'll see the effect when fall comes and the weather cools off.
