GONADS/SweetSix--BackBlast.7/7/11--A Role Similar To That Of The Wolf

Aye, we planted the ShovelFlag and the faithful gathered for the weekly trot around the MMOB City Loop.

OBT (QIC)
BlackBird
Holtz
Red Warrior
MacDeuce
Pomfret
Raul Justice
The Rock
War Daddy

The Thang:
6.4 miles on the MMOB City Loop. MacDeuce wore the yellow jersey; he and RW were both under 48:00. Pomfret trailed them. Holtz and I were in at around 51:32, followed in short order by the rest of the peleton.

Spreadsheets from the Gloom:
_ Kotters to War Daddy, Raul (fresh off the Death Race two weekends ago) and The Rock, who snuck this one in before MRock goes DR for the weekend.
_ Where's War Daddy?: War Daddy returned to the fold after a long stretch of globetrotting travels to various back offices maintained around the world by The Flagscape to process that venti skinny iced latte (extra shot, light ice) you put on your credit card yesterday afternoon at Starbucks. Among the highlights: Running with the bulls in Pamplona; attending Solstice Day festivities at Stonehenge; swimming the Bosporus in Istanbul-not-Constantinople; partying at the Palace Presidentiel in Libreville, Gabon. It's a little unclear exactly what the War Daddy does for work at these exotic ports of call (rumor has it his role is similar to that of The Wolf in "Pulp Fiction"), but safe to say the more you wield that plastic the less he'll need to be away from home.
_ OBT Cinema: Yes, I have seen "Pulp Fiction," but this week's selection for Movies OBT's Mom Wouldn't Let Him See (as revealed last night to Dredd and Sweeper Boy): "Old School." Maybe it'll go on the iPad for my flight to the West Coast the week after next.
_ SweeperTee Pick: We got into this a bit at the HDHH and Sweeper and I are in agreement -- for those of you who established your indie cred back in the 1980s by listening to pre-"Document" REM and stopped there, do yourself a favor and download a little early Replacements on iTunes, particularly "Let It Be," (1984), featuring classics like "Black Diamond," "Answering Machine," "Gary's Got a Boner" and "Unsatisfied."
_ Man Down! Report: None.
_ Scrod Down! Report: None, but then again PBo didn't post. (PBo!)

  1. Don't worry. PBo did post on his own run and a scrod was to be had...
