A quick Ritchie backblast…
While OBT was donning the sweat-soaked smokeboots for his second tour of the Iowa/South Dakota cornfields, it fell to MacDeuce, DarkWarrior and RedWarrior to carry the emotional shovel flag through the streets of Charlotte on the MMOB “This is My City” loop.
Distance: 12.00mi
Time: 1:40:00
Reflections from the Gloom:
The perfectly put together MacDeuce arrived on foot showing no signs of his “drinking heavily so status subject to change” night out. Except, of course, that he was required to run to the train after realizing (upon entering his garage) that the car did not make it home the night before.
RedWarrior, pushing up against a Sunday morning family commitment, bid farewell at the halfway point and reverted back to the train. He is an accountant, so I’ll let him explain how doubling back from the farthest point on the course actually saves time. Perhaps MacDeuce and DW were just moving too slowly for the Red one and he sprinted it back in.
RedWarrior also ran to the start/finish line, leaving the fossil-fuel burning DW as the only participant with a carbon footprint. OBT, you would have been proud.
MacDeuce was kind enough to teach class while running, taking DW and 0.5RW through his series on The Finer Points of BRR and the History of the Campos. Thanks for the lessons, MacDeuce.
