Despite the slightly different launch site, it was the usual MMOB "This Is My City" Loop over to the northwest side and back through Wesley Heights, the center city and along the Sugar Creek Greenway. Distance covered was just over 12 miles, pace was about 8:35, time right around 1:43:00.
Spreadsheets From The Gloom:
_ MMOB's City was looking particularly lovely this AM as we crested State Street -- sun coming up to the east, but still some cloud cover overhead and many of the downtown building lights still on from the overnight. A very striking view.
_ Despite enthusiastically jumping into the banter over the early start time, TriGuyWalker was nowhere to be seen at the post. There was speculation among some that perhaps an age-group podium finish in a sprint triathlon yesterday was to blame, but the consensus among the faithful was that it would help to have actually post for a GONADS or Qrusade workout or two before you start throwing your two-cents-worth into the mix. Just sayin' ... (FN1)
_ If there was any theme to be had out of this one it was the ongoing Search for ScrodSpots. We may have to may some alterations to the first few miles of this route that will take us by more port-o-lets, as PBo suffered for several miles until he and Pomfret finally jumped off the greenway in Wesley Heights to make a run for a ScrodSpot they spotted from afar. For YHC, the crisis didn't hit until the Kings Drive stretch of the Sugar Creek Greenway, and fortunately that is currently under construction so there were plentiful pickings.
_ YHC, in training for the Iowa/South Dakota Insanity Double Marathon Weekend in early June, tacked another 8+ miles onto this one, an extension that took me past the AG/Selwyn campus, where I took advantage of the AG track to add in two miles of flat running. As I finished the eighth lap and got ready to head out for my last 2 miles back to Freedom, who did I encounter putting in his track work, but SixMike ... 3xclaps to SixMike and I need to add you to the RitchieRun list.
